Description: Colorless crystals or white power, without odor, with sour taste, stable in air, compound of equal quantity ofdextro-rotatory and levo-rotatory tartaric acid, containing one or two molecule crystalline water and losting water when heated to 100ºC , specific gravity 1.697. Its solubility in ether is about 1% and 5.01( 25ºC ) in ethanol, in water is 20.60( 20ºC ).
